Pricing, in plain numbers · Updated September 2026
For a business of 5 to 50 people, one working automation costs $5,000 to $15,000 to build and $50 to $300 a month to run. Finding out which one is worth building costs $2,500. Here is where those numbers come from.
Owners assume the AI is the expensive part. It isn't. The cost is in three places:
These are my prices. They're fixed, and they're the same numbers on the Work with me page.
| Step | What you get | Price | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| The workshop | One automation built live in front of a room, on someone's real problem. | Free | 60 minutes, live |
| AI Opportunity Map | Half a day on site, a map of where the hours go, and one prototype running on your data. | $2,500 | Two weeks, fixed |
| Build Sprint | One system built, installed, documented, handed to staff. | $5,000 to $15,000 | Three to six weeks, fixed scope |
| On-call AI operations | Kept running, improved monthly, one person to call. | $1,500 to $2,500 a month | Month to month |
What a Build Sprint looks like in practice:
These are typical ranges for the scope described. Your number comes from the Opportunity Map, in writing, before the sprint starts.
Two kinds of firms show up when you search for this.
National "AI automation agencies" with a page for every city advertise chatbots and AI receptionists from around $2,500, plus a monthly fee, and often headline claims like "save 40%." The build is usually a template configured remotely. The monthly fee is where the money is.
Established consultancies that serve mid-market companies publish advisory from $5,000 to $15,000, roadmaps from $15,000 to $50,000, and implementation from $50,000 to $250,000. Those numbers are right for a company with 200 people and an IT department. They are not built for a business where the owner still answers the phone.
My prices sit between the two on purpose. The work is custom and done in person, like the consultancies. The scope is one system at a time with a fixed price, like the agencies claim but rarely deliver.
| Cost | Typical range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| AI model usage | $20 to $150 a month | Metered. Reading a few hundred emails or documents a month is at the low end. |
| Phone minutes for voice intake | $50 to $200 a month | Only if the automation answers calls. Scales with call volume. |
| Tool subscriptions | Usually $0 extra | I build on what you already pay for. If a new tool is needed, it's in the quote. |
| Your staff's time at handover | Two to four hours per person | The people who will use the system learn it from me, not from a manual. |
| Someone watching it | $1,500 to $2,500 a month | Optional. Some owners take it, some have a capable office manager and don't. |
I won't quote hours saved before I've seen your business. Anyone who does is guessing. What we agree to measure instead, before anything is built:
Those three numbers are in your phone system, your quoting tool, and your accounting already. We read them before, and we read them after.
The Opportunity Map exists so you find this out for $2,500 instead of $15,000.
I'll tell you honestly whether AI helps with it. If it does, you'll leave knowing what the first step costs and how long it takes.
